How Do I Become A Hotdogger?

There is not a person alive who doesn't get excited about seeing the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile pass through town.  But who are those lucky people who are driving it around, and more importantly, how the heck did they get that AWESOME job??  I have asked myself that a hundred times, and now I know how to do it.

I found out, it is indeed a Full Time job.  The people at Oscar Mayer look for College Grads.  Each year they select 12 college graduates to become "pilots" or "hotdoggers."  This is a tradition that has been around for over 25 years.  If you are selected to drive the Wienermobile, you are going to be in elite company.  Only 378 Hotdoggers are selected to be drivers.  About 1200 people apply for the job and there are only 12 spots to fill, so needless to say it is competitive.  That means on 1 percent 'cut the mustard',  haha, get it!!  Every Hotdogger has a partner to ride 'shotbun' and each duo covers one of six different regions in the United States to be a part of about 1500 events a year.

Why Didn't Anyone Tell Me I Could Do That?

Working at a radio station for many years, I have gotten to see a lot of cool things.  From taking a ride in the Wienermobile, to broadcasting live from a Car Show, to most recently, hosting the Taste of Home Cooking School.  The one thing I find myself saying over and over again is, Why didn't anyone tell me about a job like this?  There are so many cool things you can do.

Think about it.  How fun would it be to travel the country driving the Wienermobile from state to state?


But the thing is, you need to know about these jobs.  That is where I come in.  I am going to do the research and post links to the applications.  That way you will know exactly where to go to apply for these jobs and take some adventures in your life.
